My friend works for a company that offers Exhibition Services for large companies who want to put on exhibitions in various locations up and down the country. The Exhibition Services they offer cover a wide range of things from stands to personnel to make sure the exhibition runs smoothly. Although she really loves her job she does find it extremely challenging. As she says, Exhibition Services is such a massive umbrella for all sorts of things that are needed to make an exhibition run smoothly, and it is her job to ensure that nothing goes wrong on the big day. Due to the nature of her work, she often works away and because a lot of exhibitions are targeted at the general public, she often has to work away all weekend. Sometimes I wonder why she does the job at all but she assures me that she finds it incredibly challenging and rewarding. As she says, she is constantly meeting new people and, because most of the exhibitors are also away from home, she says the social life at the end of the day is excellent. I am glad she is happy in her work and can see the appeal of the nomadic lifestyle she adopts even though it is not for me.
